Description

A savory and indulgent chicken dish inspired by the Outback Steakhouse favorite, featuring grilled chicken breasts topped with mushrooms, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a tangy honey mustard sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked until crisp
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. In a small bowl, mix honey, Dijon mustard, and mayonnaise to create the sauce. Spread half of the sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
  4. Top each chicken breast with sliced mushrooms, followed by two slices of crispy bacon. Spoon the remaining sauce over the bacon.
  5. Sprinkle shredded Colby Jack cheese over each chicken breast. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
