Description

A gourmet sandwich featuring tender applewood smoked turkey, melted cheese, and a sweet-tart cranberry whiskey glaze, grilled to perfection.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 lb applewood smoked turkey slices
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 2 tbsp whiskey
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine cranberry sauce, whiskey, and Dijon mustard. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. On the non-mayonnaise side of 4 slices, layer turkey, provolone cheese, and a spoonful of cranberry whiskey glaze. Top with remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side out.
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Butter the outside of each sandwich. Grill for 3-4 minutes per side, until bread is golden and cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
