Description

A golden crown of pastry filled with ruby-red cranberry jewels, circling molten brie at the heart.

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, and orange zest. Cook over medium heat until cranberries burst and mixture thickens, about 10 minutes. Let cool.
  3. Roll out puff pastry slightly. Place brie in center, top with cranberry compote, and wrap pastry around brie, sealing edges. Brush with egg wash.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes until pastry is golden brown. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
