Description

A festive and elegant appetizer featuring creamy brie wrapped in flaky puff pastry, shaped like a gift box and topped with a decorative pastry bow.

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Flaky sea salt for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry into a 12-inch square. Place brie in the center. Spread apricot jam over the top of the brie and sprinkle with thyme.
  3. Fold the pastry over the brie, trimming excess if needed, and press edges to seal. Flip seam-side down onto the baking sheet.
  4. Cut thin strips from pastry scraps and arrange on top to form a bow. Brush entire pastry with beaten egg and sprinkle with flaky salt.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
