For the Crust:
- 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Prepare the dough: In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, flour, and salt. Knead until smooth, let rise until doubled.
- Make filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Roll dough into rectangle, spread filling, roll tightly, and slice into 12 rolls.
- Prepare caramel: In saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter with 1 cup brown sugar and heavy cream. Simmer until thickened. Pour into baking dish, sprinkle pecans.
- Arrange rolls over caramel, let rise 30 minutes. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Let cool 5 minutes, then flip onto serving plate so caramel drips over rolls. Serve warm.
