Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in flour, salt, and lemon zest until a crumbly dough forms. Press evenly into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely in pan.
  5. Whisk powdered sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bars and let set before cutting into squares.
