Description

A decadent dessert featuring a warm, spiced apple filling encased in a fluffy dough with a molten caramel center—perfect for autumn indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 soft caramel candies, unwrapped

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in milk and vanilla until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Spoon a tablespoon of dough into each muffin cup. Add a spoonful of apple mixture, then press a caramel candy into the center. Top with another spoonful of dough, sealing edges.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.
