Description

A delightful twist on classic cream puffs, featuring light choux pastry filled with rich black sesame cream and topped with caramelized bananas for a sweet, nutty, and elegant dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons black sesame paste
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil. Add flour and salt, stirring vigorously until a dough forms. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time until smooth. Pipe or spoon dough into mounds on the baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Let cool.
  4. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Fold in black sesame paste. Slice cooled puffs and fill with cream.
  5. Caramelize bananas by cooking slices with granulated sugar in a pan over medium heat until golden. Top puffs with caramelized bananas before serving.
