Description

Flaky puff pastry filled with sweet caramelized pears and creamy brie, shaped into festive snowflakes for a delightful appetizer or snack.

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 ripe pears, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 ounces brie cheese, rind removed and cubed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add diced pears, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until pears are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Roll out puff pastry sheet and cut into 6 equal squares. Place a spoonful of caramelized pears and a few cubes of brie in the center of each square.
  4. Fold the corners of each square toward the center, pinching lightly to form a snowflake shape. Brush with egg wash.
  5. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until pastry is golden and puffed. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
