For the Crust:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 2 ripe pears, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 ounces brie cheese, rind removed and cubed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add diced pears, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until pears are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Roll out puff pastry sheet and cut into 6 equal squares. Place a spoonful of caramelized pears and a few cubes of brie in the center of each square.
- Fold the corners of each square toward the center, pinching lightly to form a snowflake shape. Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, until pastry is golden and puffed. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
