Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup smoked Gouda, shredded
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss apple slices with lemon juice, 1/4 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Arrange in a baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle shredded smoked Gouda evenly over the apples.
  3. In a bowl, mix oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over cheese layer.
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until topping is golden and apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving.
