For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Spread the dough evenly in the prepared skillet. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until edges are golden and center is slightly soft.
