For the Crust:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
- 1 ripe avocado, mashed
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat a skillet or panini press over medium heat.
- Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. On two slices, layer shredded chicken, mashed avocado, and two slices of cheese each. Top with the remaining bread slices, mayonnaise-side down.
- Butter the outer sides of the sandwiches lightly.
- Place sandwiches in the skillet or press and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve immediately.
