A festive, layered trifle with chocolate, cherries, and cream—perfect for holiday gatherings, made without alcohol and suitable for halal diets.

For the Crust:

  • 1 chocolate cake or brownie, cubed
  • 2 cups pitted cherries (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 1 cup cherry juice or syrup (alcohol-free)
  • 2 cups whipped cream or halal-certified whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake or brownie by cutting into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix cherries with cherry juice or syrup and vanilla extract. Add sugar if desired.
  3. In a trifle dish, layer half the cake cubes, then half the cherry mixture, and half the whipped cream.
  4. Repeat the layers with remaining ingredients, ending with whipped cream on top.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate shavings over the top layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
