For the Crust:
- 1 chocolate cake or brownie, cubed
- 2 cups pitted cherries (fresh or canned, drained)
- 1 cup cherry juice or syrup (alcohol-free)
- 2 cups whipped cream or halal-certified whipped topping
- 1/2 cup chocolate shavings
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Prepare the chocolate cake or brownie by cutting into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, mix cherries with cherry juice or syrup and vanilla extract. Add sugar if desired.
- In a trifle dish, layer half the cake cubes, then half the cherry mixture, and half the whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers with remaining ingredients, ending with whipped cream on top.
- Sprinkle chocolate shavings over the top layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
