For the Crust:

  • 6 slices thick-cut bread, cut into sticks
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk or protein-fortified milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Powdered sugar and extra syrup for serving

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, protein powder, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, coating evenly on all sides.
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt butter or oil.
  4. Cook the sticks for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with extra maple syrup.
