For the Crust:
- 1 loaf French bread or baguette
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the bread loaf in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix minced garlic with olive oil. Brush the mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle diced tomatoes and chopped basil over the bread, then top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is golden.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
