Description

A savory and aromatic garlic bread topped with fresh tomatoes and basil, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.

For the Crust:

  • 1 loaf French bread or baguette
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle diced tomatoes and chopped basil over the bread, then top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven, let cool for 2-3 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
