For the Crust:
- 1 loaf French bread or baguette
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle diced tomatoes and chopped basil over the bread, then top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from oven, let cool for 2-3 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
