A comforting and cheesy lasagna bake featuring a rich cottage cheese filling layered with pasta, marinara sauce, and mozzarella.

For the Crust:
- 9 lasagna noodles, uncooked
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, mix cottage cheese, egg, Parmesan, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly over the bottom of the baking dish.
- Arrange 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the cottage cheese mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with 1/3 of the mozzarella.
- Repeat layers: sauce, noodles, remaining cottage cheese mixture, and another 1/3 of the mozzarella.
- Top with the last 3 noodles, remaining sauce, and remaining mozzarella.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
