Description

A comforting and cheesy lasagna bake featuring a rich cottage cheese filling layered with pasta, marinara sauce, and mozzarella.

For the Crust:

  • 9 lasagna noodles, uncooked
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix cottage cheese, egg, Parmesan, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly over the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Arrange 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the cottage cheese mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with 1/3 of the mozzarella.
  5. Repeat layers: sauce, noodles, remaining cottage cheese mixture, and another 1/3 of the mozzarella.
  6. Top with the last 3 noodles, remaining sauce, and remaining mozzarella.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
