For the Crust:
- 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss apple slices with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, and brown sugar. Stir in melted butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until topping is golden and apples are tender.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
