Description

A savory and slightly sweet side dish featuring crispy roasted Brussels sprouts tossed in a homemade Asian-inspired BBQ sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil and spread on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 20-25 minutes until crispy and golden.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Toss the roasted Brussels sprouts with the BBQ sauce until evenly coated. Return to the oven for 5 minutes to caramelize.
  4. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
