A sweet, savory, and spicy flatbread appetizer featuring creamy brie, tart cranberries, crunchy walnuts, and a unique cinnamon apple hot pepper spread.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 large flatbread or naan
  • 4 oz brie cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
  • 1/2 cup apple jelly or apple butter
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp hot pepper jelly or 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place flatbread on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix apple jelly, cinnamon, and hot pepper jelly or red pepper flakes to create the spread. Spread evenly over the flatbread.
  3. Arrange brie slices on top of the spread, then sprinkle with cranberries and toasted walnuts. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the flatbread is crispy and the brie is melted. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
