Description

A delicious appetizer or side dish featuring crispy smashed Brussels sprouts drizzled with spicy-sweet hot honey and served over creamy burrata cheese.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 oz burrata cheese
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Boil Brussels sprouts in salted water for 10 minutes until tender. Drain and let cool slightly.
  3. Place sprouts on baking sheet, smash each with the bottom of a glass or jar to flatten.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Roast for 20-25 minutes until crispy.
  5. In a small saucepan, warm honey and red pepper flakes over low heat for 2-3 minutes. Stir in lemon juice.
  6. Place burrata on a serving plate, top with crispy Brussels sprouts, drizzle with hot honey, and garnish with parsley.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
