Description

A sophisticated and simple appetizer featuring ripe pears stuffed with creamy blue cheese, toasted walnuts, and a drizzle of honey for a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 ripe but firm pears (such as Bosc or Anjou)
  • 4 oz blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut pears in half lengthwise and use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the cores, creating a small cavity in each half.
  3. In a bowl, mix blue cheese, toasted walnuts, and half of the thyme. Stuff each pear half generously with the mixture.
  4. Place pears on the baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season lightly with salt and pepper. Bake for 15-20 minutes until pears are tender and cheese is slightly melted.
  5. Remove from oven, drizzle with honey, and garnish with remaining thyme. Serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
