A warm, gooey baked brie topped with sweet caramelized apples and fragrant thyme, perfect for an elegant appetizer.

For the Crust:

  • 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add apple slices and brown sugar, cooking until apples are tender and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Stir in thyme leaves.
  3. Roll out puff pastry and place brie in the center. Top brie with caramelized apples.
  4. Wrap puff pastry around brie, sealing edges. Brush with beaten egg.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until pastry is golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
