Description
A comforting and indulgent dish featuring golden pan-seared chicken breasts smothered in a rich, creamy sauce, topped with crispy bacon and melted cheese, perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.
- Add diced onion to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth to deglaze the skillet, scraping up any browned bits. Bring to a simmer, then stir in heavy cream. Return chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the chicken. Cover the skillet and cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted.
- Garnish with crispy bacon and chopped parsley before serving.
