For the Crust:

  • 8 slices of white bread, crusts removed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon bits
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, mix shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, green onions, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Flatten each bread slice with a rolling pin, then place a spoonful of the cheese mixture on one end. Roll tightly and seal the edge with a dab of water.
  3. Dip each roll into the beaten eggs, then coat evenly with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry the rolls until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
