Description

Flaky puff pastry cups filled with creamy whipped Gorgonzola and sweet caramelized pears, creating a perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut puff pastry into 12 squares and press into a mini muffin tin to form cups. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and puffed. Let cool.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add pears, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pears are soft and caramelized. Remove from heat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine Gorgonzola, cream cheese, heavy cream, and honey. Whip with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Spoon a small amount of whipped Gorgonzola into each puff pastry cup. Top with caramelized pears and garnish with fresh thyme. Serve warm.
