Description

A savory, crowd-pleasing casserole loaded with ground beef, cheese, and crispy tater tots that disappears so fast you’ll barely have time to serve seconds.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined. Remove from heat.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese and beef mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  7. Remove from oven, sprinkle with remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese and parsley (if using). Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
