For the Crust:

  • 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange sliced sweet potatoes evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Stir in melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Pour the batter evenly over the sweet potatoes in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the sweet potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.
