For the Crust:
- 1.5 lbs flank steak
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls, halved
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Season the flank steak with olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the steak for 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- In a bowl, combine cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and toss gently.
- Serve the sliced steak topped with the Caprese salad and an extra drizzle of balsamic glaze.
