Description

A festive baked brie wrapped in flaky puff pastry, topped with sweet-tart cranberries, drizzled honey, and toasted walnuts for a perfect holiday appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 wheel of brie cheese (8 oz)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 2 tbsp wildflower honey
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add cranberries, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes until cranberries soften and release juices. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place brie wheel in the center. Top with cranberry mixture and half of the walnuts.
  4. Wrap pastry around brie, sealing edges by pinching together. Brush with beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until pastry is puffed and golden. Let cool for 5 minutes, then drizzle with honey and sprinkle with remaining walnuts before serving.
