For the Crust:
- 4 large apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Core the apples, leaving the bottoms intact to form a cup. Arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix cranberries, walnuts, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter until well combined.
- Spoon the cranberry walnut mixture into the cored apples, packing gently.
- Drizzle honey over the filled apples. Pour water into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until apples are tender and the topping is golden. Serve warm.
