Description

Warm, tender baked apples filled with a sweet-tart cranberry walnut crumble and drizzled with honey for a comforting dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 4 large apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottoms intact to form a cup. Arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix cranberries, walnuts, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter until well combined.
  4. Spoon the cranberry walnut mixture into the cored apples, packing gently.
  5. Drizzle honey over the filled apples. Pour water into the bottom of the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until apples are tender and the topping is golden. Serve warm.
