Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 2 ripe pears, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup shelled pistachios, chopped
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the diced pears, water or milk, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the rolled oats and reduce heat to low. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are tender and the mixture has thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and let stand for 2 minutes. Stir in half of the chopped pistachios.
  4. Divide the oatmeal into bowls and top with the remaining pistachios. Drizzle with extra honey if desired and serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
