For the Crust:
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, then cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a 12×16 inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over dough, then sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Tightly roll dough from the long edge, pinch seam to seal, and slice into 12 equal rolls. Place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
