For the Crust:

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Gradually mix in flour and salt until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, then cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Roll dough into a 12×16 inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over dough, then sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Tightly roll dough from the long edge, pinch seam to seal, and slice into 12 equal rolls. Place in a greased baking dish.
  5. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  6. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
