Description

A decadent, gooey cake with a surprise strawberry and cream cheese swirl that cracks through the top like an earthquake.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until smooth. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, melted butter, and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in chopped strawberries.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter. Do not stir.
  5. Sprinkle coconut and pecans evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
