Description

Soft, chewy, and twisted Korean donuts coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar. Perfect for a snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix warm milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Pour into dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 3-4 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll each into a rope about 6 inches long, then twist two ropes together and pinch ends to seal.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry donuts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Roll warm donuts in the mixture to coat evenly.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
