A vibrant and flavorful Mediterranean-inspired dish featuring seasoned ground chicken stuffed into warm pitas and topped with a creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy feta sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 lemon (juiced and zested)
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, combine feta, Greek yogurt, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes. Mix until smooth and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground chicken, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for 8-10 minutes, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through.
  4. Warm the pita breads in a toaster or oven until soft and pliable.
  5. Fill each pita with the cooked chicken mixture, top with diced cucumber and red onion, and drizzle generously with the feta cream.
