Description

A decadent, no-bake dessert that layers the rich flavors of caramel, chocolate, and shortbread into a lasagna-style treat.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 package shortbread cookies, crushed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Combine crushed shortbread cookies with melted butter and press into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish to form the base layer.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, heavy cream, and a pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened to a caramel consistency. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Pour half of the caramel mixture over the shortbread base. Sprinkle with half of the chocolate chips.
  4. Repeat layers with remaining caramel and chocolate chips. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
