For the Crust:
- 1 pre-made flatbread or pizza crust
- 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
- 4 oz brie cheese, sliced
- 2 large shallots, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place flatbread on a baking sheet.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add shallots, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for 10-12 minutes until caramelized, stirring occasionally.
- Spread caramelized shallots evenly over the flatbread. Top with pear slices and brie cheese.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is melted.
- While baking, warm honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat for 2-3 minutes to infuse.
- Remove flatbread from oven, drizzle with hot honey, and garnish with fresh thyme. Slice and serve warm.
