For the Crust:
- 8 slices of sourdough bread
- 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
- 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 oz brie cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a small bowl, mix chopped walnuts, honey, and cinnamon until walnuts are coated. Set aside.
- Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread. Place 4 slices buttered-side down on a clean surface.
- Layer shredded cheddar cheese, pear slices, cranberry sauce, and brie slices on the unbuttered side of each bread slice. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered-side up.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Sprinkle the walnut crunch mixture over the top of each sandwich during the last minute of cooking, pressing gently to adhere. Serve immediately.
