For the Crust:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Beat in the cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool before cutting.
