Description
Creamy brie cheese is coated in crunchy pistachios, baked until warm and gooey, and finished with a spicy-sweet hot honey drizzle for an irresistible appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 8 oz brie cheese wheel, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or olive oil
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease with cooking spray or olive oil.
- Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with chopped pistachios. Season pistachios with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Dredge each brie cube in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into beaten egg, then coat thoroughly in pistachios, pressing gently to adhere. Place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until pistachios are golden and brie is soft but not melted through. Let cool for 2-3 minutes.
- While baking, combine honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat. Warm for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant. Remove from heat.
- Arrange brie bites on a serving platter. Drizzle with hot honey, sprinkle with fresh thyme, and serve immediately.
