Description

Creamy brie cheese is coated in crunchy pistachios, baked until warm and gooey, and finished with a spicy-sweet hot honey drizzle for an irresistible appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 8 oz brie cheese wheel, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or olive oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with chopped pistachios. Season pistachios with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge each brie cube in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into beaten egg, then coat thoroughly in pistachios, pressing gently to adhere. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until pistachios are golden and brie is soft but not melted through. Let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  5. While baking, combine honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat. Warm for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant. Remove from heat.
  6. Arrange brie bites on a serving platter. Drizzle with hot honey, sprinkle with fresh thyme, and serve immediately.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
