For the Crust:
- 8 oz halloumi cheese, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces
- 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely crushed
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Pat halloumi slices dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each slice in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat evenly with crushed pistachios.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry halloumi slices for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Transfer to a plate, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves before serving.
