A savory-sweet appetizer featuring crispy halloumi cheese coated in crushed pistachios, pan-fried until golden, and drizzled with honey and fresh thyme.

For the Crust:

  • 8 oz halloumi cheese, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces
  • 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely crushed
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Pat halloumi slices dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge each slice in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat evenly with crushed pistachios.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry halloumi slices for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  4. Transfer to a plate, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves before serving.
