For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp rose water
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped pistachios
- Edible rose petals for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, then whisk in sugar, cocoa, salt, and rose water. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in flour until just combined. Fold in half of the chopped pistachios.
- Pour batter into prepared pan, smooth top, and sprinkle remaining pistachios (and rose petals if using). Bake for 25-30 minutes until set.
- Let cool completely before slicing into small squares or jewels.
