For the Crust:
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Spread marinara sauce evenly on two slices of bread, then top with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the cheese, then cover with the remaining bread slices.
- Butter the outer sides of each sandwich generously.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Let cool for 1-2 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
