For the Crust:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup basil pesto
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cherry tomatoes and rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut into a large triangle shape for the tree. Make horizontal cuts along both sides, leaving a center strip intact.
- Spread pesto evenly over the pastry, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Season with salt and pepper.
- Twist the cut strips to form branches, then brush the entire tree with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed. Garnish with cherry tomatoes and rosemary if desired before serving.
