An elegant and easy appetizer featuring creamy avocado, smoked salmon, and fresh herbs on crispy toasted bread.

For the Crust:

  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed
  • 4 oz smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp capers, drained
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and toast for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  2. In a small bowl, mash the avocado with lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Spread a layer of mashed avocado onto each toasted baguette slice.
  4. Top each crostini with a piece of smoked salmon, a sprinkle of fresh dill, and a few capers.
  5. Drizzle with remaining olive oil and serve immediately.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
