For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, spinach, garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Take a portion of the meat mixture, flatten it in your hand, place a mozzarella cube in the center, and shape into a ball, ensuring the cheese is fully enclosed.
- Place meatballs on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through and golden.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping or over pasta.
