Description

Spicy, cheesy, and utterly addictive, these spiral pastries feature nduja sausage that melts into the dough as it bakes, creating a rust-red, flavorful swirl. Perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz nduja sausage, casing removed
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle about 1/8-inch thick.
  3. Spread nduja evenly over the pastry, then sprinkle with mozzarella, Parmesan, oregano, and red pepper flakes if using.
  4. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log. Slice into 1-inch thick rounds.
  5. Place rounds on the prepared baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and puffed.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
