Description

A sweet and spicy appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry twisted with strawberry jam and fresh jalapeño, finished with a sprinkle of fleur de sel for a gourmet touch.

For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 medium jalapeño, finely diced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon fleur de sel
  • All-purpose flour, for dusting

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet into a 10×12-inch rectangle. Spread strawberry jam evenly over the surface, then sprinkle diced jalapeño on top.
  3. Fold the pastry in half lengthwise to enclose the filling. Cut into 1-inch wide strips. Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with fleur de sel.
  4. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown and puffed. Let cool slightly before serving.
