Description

Flaky, golden hand pies filled with spiced sweet potato mash, perfect for a portable snack or dessert.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp coarse sugar

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  3. Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut into 4-inch squares. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each square.
  4. Fold pastry over filling to form triangles, press edges with a fork to seal, and brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
